Take a hike or a stroll, the vistas are incredible
Hiking is readily available at most of our winery properties, at Rock Creek Cattle Company and Wharekauhau Lodge and also through the many trails in the areas surrounding our FFWS properties.
Hiking in the vineyards allows you to experience the seasonal aspects of the wines, from budbreak to harvest you can see first-hand what happens to the vines as they produce the grapes that will go into making your favorite glass of wine. You’ll also have the opportunity to see the insects and wildlife that live with us in the vineyards and work together to protect the vines.
In Montana, you can experience hiking the mountains, on a developed trail or bushwhacking through the wilderness. You’ll see all kinds of wildlife whether you choose to hike the developed Thompson Trail on your own, or take a more adventurous hike with one of our Outdoor Activities Guides through Willow Creek Canyon to find one of the largest herds of Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep.
