America. It is a region graced with perfect conditions, allowing for the
creation of some of the world’s most coveted wines. In fact, wine, in
all its facets is celebrated here, as is the land it comes from. Be
prepared to experience one of the loveliest places on earth.
As a connoisseur of great wines, you’ll want to follow the famous Napa
Valley Trail. As a Society member, you’ll have some exclusive stops to
make along the way. Be our guest at any one of the three FFWS wineries

ABOUT THE NAPA VALLEY
History: Napa Valley’s first commercial winery was established in 1861. By 1889 there were more than 140 wineries in operation. Although the wine business has encountered a variety of challenges, from pests and plant diseases to Prohibition in the 1920’s, the appetite for the unique wines created here only grows. Today there are more than 400 wineries in operation.
Unique Conditions: There exist an amazing 33 different soil series in the Napa Valley representing 6 of the 12 soil orders that comprise modern soil taxonomy. In other words, in an area just 30 miles long and 5 miles wide, half of the soil orders that exist on the planet can be readily found.
Extensive soil diversity can also be found within individual appellations, such as the Spring Mountain AVA, which alone contains 22 different soil series. This amazing diversity within a single appellation is a major reason viticulturists may not assume that any given vineyard will be represented by one soil type.
Napa Style: This special place retains a relaxed elegance that belies its reputation as one of the premier travel destinations in the world. The cultural vibe is centered around all things natural and all things healthy, so its no surprise the warm and welcoming hospitality of the region is legendary.
Napa is also renown for both its food and its wellness industry with many unique experiences to be enjoyed at its incredible spas, mud baths, and healing geothermal springs. Breathtaking views surprise at every turn – yellow mustard paints the hillsides in the late winter, picturesque rolling hills planted with vineyards year-round and wineries dot the landscape. The shopping experience is eclectic and unique to the region... Enjoy!
