Earthy. Finessed. Black cherry, dark plum, mandarin orange and forest floor aromas, and a mouthful of Bing cherry, pomegranate, and blackberry cobbler.

Ratings
93 Points - Wine Enthusiast. This vineyard is farmed Biodynamically, and a scent of compost (but good funk!) weaves through the nose. Truffle, chicken yard and ripe berry scents open into a soft, smooth and focused wine. Flavors persist and expand, with cherries, cola and sassafras running through a long, detailed finish. —P.G.
Winemaker Notes
Fans of our Doe Ridge will not be disappointed in this earthy, yet finessed vintage. Aromas of black cherry, dark plum, mandarin orange, forest floor and baking spice lure the senses. A mouthful of Bing cherry, pomegranate, blackberry cobbler and an intriguing note of roasted coffee beans linger on a wave of youthful tannins.
Food Pairing Notes
Pair this wonderful wine with a juicy steak covered in mushroom sauce or with a dark chocolate dessert.

Production Notes
The 2012 vintage has been heralded all along the west coast of North America. The wet and cool spring pushed bud break forward and interrupted flowering. The result was a low crop set. July through October was one of the driest on record with September free of rain. Temperatures were in the 70’s and low 80’s throughout the month warming all fruit in the Willamette Valley to optimal ripeness. The grapes were hand harvested from September 19th to September 21st, 2012. All fruit for this single vineyard wine is sourced from our Doe Ridge Estate. On this property we continue to execute our sustainable/ biodynamic ‘experiment’. In addition to these dual farming the vineyard is L.I.V.E. certified and Salmon Safe. This wine is sourced from Blocks 15, 17, and 18.
