Rich wine with bold flavors. The aromatics are both delicate and forward. The texture is juicy and mouthwatering yet well-structured. Flavors of cassis, black olive, and pomegranate fruit enhanced by tannins.

Winemaker Notes
A riper vintage, this 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is a rich wine with bold flavors. The aromatics are both delicate and forward with a mixture of bright cranberry fruit and earthy graphite pencil shavings. The texture is juicy and mouthwatering yet well-structured. Flavors of cassis, black olive, and pomegranate fruit are further enhanced by pronounced tannins. Notes of coffee bean and dark cocoa powder linger on the finish.
Food Pairing Notes
This wine can stand up against a hearty paring of seared venison or braised short ribs. 2014 Sta. Rita Hills Zoula Nunn Chardonnay P aired with Pan Roast Lobster with Lemon Butter and Tarragon Polenta “This is a quintessential match that I adore. This Chardonnay is very pretty with floral lime and honey blossom with concentrated tropical undertones. Its soft, vanilla-cream mid-palate and Meyer lemon finish pairs wonderfully with Pan Roast Lobster with Lemon Butter; the Tarragon Polenta adding richness and slight anise characteristics. This pairing is a true classic that emulates both the rich meat of the Lobster and the fruit-brazen qualities of the Chardonnay with its endless concentrated fruit and persistent texture.” – Robert Smith, Master Sommelier

Production Notes
The grapes for the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon were sourced from select vineyard sites in the Santa Ynez Valley. The combination of full sun exposure, low rainfall, long growing season, and porous soils makes the Santa Ynez Valley a great site for all of the Bordeaux varieties. The grapes were hand harvested from August 19 - October 10, 2014 and stored in open top fermenters for primary fermentation, then pressed off to barrel for secondary fermentation. It was aged for 19 months in French oak barrels of which 80% were new.
Vineyard Notes
The 2014 vintage was a prime year in the Santa Ynez Valley. It was our third consecutive abundant vintage with high quality fruit and large yields. As the earliest bud break on record in the region and with such a warm growing season, this was also the earliest harvest to date. Conditions remained ideal from bloom to set.
