Showcases red fruit tones and moderate oak. Dried cranberries fresh raspberries on the nose. Sophisticated and balanced palate and a great mid-palate mouthfeel, density of fruit and elegant tannin structure.
Named after Proprietor Bill Foley’s aunt, our 2014 Willie Mae Pinot Noir showcases red fruit tones and moderate
oak. On the nose, dried cranberries and lively fresh raspberries come to mind. This sophisticated and balanced
palate has black pepper, candied raspberries and hints of violets at the forefront. The great mid-palate mouthfeel,
density of fruit and elegant tannin structure further highlight the complexity of clones 115 and 113.
Food Pairing Notes
2014 Sta. Rita Hills Willie Mae Pinot Noir. Paired with Herb Crusted Halibut and Glazed Root Vegetables
“This Willie Mae Pinot Noir is loaded with flavors of dried raspberries, cranberries and accents of white
pepper and purple flowers. The mid-palate strength and red fruits on the finish pair well with Herb
Crusted Halibut with Glazed Root Vegetables. Along with the Halibut, most herbs and vegetables show
remarkably well with the savory notes of this Willie Mae Pinot.”

100% Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir
The 2014 vintage was another solid year in the Sta. Rita Hills. It was our third consecutive abundant vintage with
high quality fruit and large yields. With the earliest bud break on record and such a warm growing season, this was
the earliest harvest to date. Conditions remained ideal from bloom to set only minimally burdened by the typical
afternoon winds that sweep through Sta. Rita Hills. As part of the original Spanish Land Grant, the Rancho Santa Rosa Vineyard is one of Santa Barbara’s most historic
properties. This beautiful south-facing hillside climbs from 500 to 1,000 feet above sea level. This wine features
Pinot Noir clones 113 and 115. Following harvest, the fruit was cold soaked for four days and then fermented in open
tops with regular punch downs to extract maximum color and flavor. It was aged in 100% French oak barrels (40%
new) for 18 months.
