Marsanne is a white varietal that hails from the Rhone Valley of
France. Our inaugural 2014 Night Marsanne exemplifies aromas and
flavors characteristic of the varietal with notes of honeysuckle, apple
blossom, and vanilla. On the palate, this wine has a smooth entry with
lively and balanced acidity. Citrus blossom and floral notes linger
with a nice minerality and oak influence that melds together for a
long, pleasant finish.
Food Pairing Notes
FRESH MELON SALAD. Pair with 2015 Guenoc Valley 'Night' Marsanne.
This rich wine is bursting with honeysuckle, jasmine & white peach
on the forefront leading to tinges of melon, honey and Gala Apple.
It pairs wonderfully with a Fresh Melon Salad with Melon Water,
Bulgarian Feta and Genovese Basil. The textural components of the
Marsanne are well matched by the citrus, stone fruit and herbal lift
of the salad. The Melon adds a refreshing element and the Feta
contributes a touch of richness to the finish! - Robert Smith, Master Sommelier
Guenoc Valley lies sixty miles north of San Francisco - a breathtaking
panorama of oak-strewn grasslands, rolling green hills, craggy
outcroppings and perfect volcanic cinder cones, painted with the
shimmer of a dozen azure lakes. The 21,349-acre Langtry Estate is
one of the largest contiguous private land holdings in California, and
among the most beautiful.
