The Oregon Wine Brand That Should Be On Your Radar

“I can’t help but conclude that Oregon is right now the single most exciting winemaking area in the United States.” – Eric Asimov, New York Times

Move over, California – Oregon is here and ready to make its mark on the winemaking industry. Hosting more than 700 wineries and more than 1,000 vineyards, over 72 grape varieties take advantage of the unique location and micro-climates the state offers resulting in world-class wines and full varietal character.

Acrobat, based out of Eugene, is one of the brands catching the attention of wine enthusiasts and industry professionals alike. Their wines are sourced from a spectrum of Oregon vineyards, spanning the three classic Western AVA’s – Willamette Valley, Umpqua Valley and Rogue Valley;  each vineyard and AVA have distinct characteristics and provide their own flavor. This diverse geographical selection was done by design, giving Acrobat wines a balanced flavor profile of the state of Oregon.

This strategy has paid off, as Acrobat closes out a stellar 2018 after having five wines earn acclaim from the industry’s leading publications. For a true representation of Acrobat’s commitment to handcrafted “casual, confident, and honest” wines, be sure to pick up one of these recognized bottles at your local retailer or in our online wine shop.

2015 ACROBAT PINOT NOIR, OREGON

90 Points, Wine Enthusiast | Aromatically complex with hints of dusty compost, peat moss and coffee grounds, this moves gracefully into a lively palate. Orange and lemon peel, black tea and juicy acids highlight a red berry core. This is a totally gulpable and thoroughly delicious young Pinot.

2017 ACROBAT ROSÉ OF PINOT NOIR, OREGON

2016 ACROBAT PINOT GRIS, OREGON

90 points and Best Buy, Wine Enthusiast | This wine knocks the flavors out of the park again this vintage, with spicy grapefruit and pine needle notes leading the charge. Think more cool fruit—lime flesh and skin—than tropical flavors. Add vivid acidity, impeccable balance and a refreshing, wet stone finish, and this is a must-have, everyday, goes-with-anything white.”

2016 ACROBAT CHARDONNAY, OREGON

90 points, Wine Enthusiast | “The second vintage of this variety for the popular Acrobat brand, this is a fine value: ripe and fruity, with a pleasing mix of citrus and tree fruit flavors. There’s a gentle touch of fruit skin bitterness, balanced acidity and a light, butter-inflected finish.”

2017 ACROBAT PINOT GRIS, OREGON

90 points and Best Buy, Wine Enthusiast | “A change of owners (from King Estate to Foley Family) has not changed the success or style of this high-volume wine. Strikingly fresh, textural and minerally, this offers crisp flavors of celery, grapefruit and lime. Excellent length and mouth-tingling freshness make it a wine to drink over the next year.”
