Ingredients
- 4 slices sourdough bread
- 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
- 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp balsamic vinegar
- 2 tbsp butter (for grilling)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and a pinch of salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, until deeply golden and soft (about 15 minutes). Stir in balsamic vinegar and cook 1–2 more minutes.
