Sebastiani Vineyards | 389 Fourth Street East, Sonoma, CA
If you haven’t been to a Friday Night Music Series event at Sebastiani this summer, what are you waiting for? This week’s featured band is The BluesBurners, who are known to “throw down a spicy mix of funk, rock, electric blues, and old school R&B that takes direct aim at your soul.” They’ve earned the nod of Favorite Local Band by KRSH and were nominated for a NORBAY for Best R&B/Blues Band, so you’re not going to want to miss this performance. Executive Chef Shawna Plunkett will be preparing food on-site, and wine is available for purchase by-the-bottle or by-the-glass. As always, this event is free and family-friendly.

Saturday, August 27th, 7AM
Old Courthouse Square | 25 Old Courthouse Square, Santa Rosa, CA
When the Santa Rosa Marathon & Half Marathon were first run in 2009, the race organizers weren’t sure they’d have enough participants to hold the event. Ten years later, the Santa Rosa Marathon weekend is the largest sporting event held in Sonoma County, attracting 6,000+ runners from all 50 states and 14 countries. The flat and fast course is also U.S. Track and Field-sanctioned and certified, and the Marathon is a qualifier for the Boston Marathon. This year marks the 10th anniversary for the event and runners will be able to celebrate with limited-edition double-spinner medals, race swag, and a bottle of DeLoach Vineyards wine for every Marathon and Half Marathon finisher. It may be too late to register (and train!), but check out the course map and take a seat on the sidelines to cheer on the runners as they make their way through beautiful wine country.
