Sonoma County’s wine country will be kicking off 2019 in style with Wine Road’s 27th annual Winter WINEland the weekend of January 19th, serving as the perfect winter escape and opportunity to explore a diverse community of wineries throughout the region.
Wine Road is an association of wineries and lodgings in the Alexander, Dry Creek, and Russian River valleys of Northern Sonoma County, developed to enhance visitor experiences of the region through programs, events, and services. Winter WINEland is the first of three major wine events the association holds throughout the year, followed by Barrel Tasting in March and Wine & Food Affair in November.
Chalk Hill Estate, Roth Winery, Lancaster Estate, and Foley Sonoma will all open their doors to guests as part of this two-day extravaganza, participating in the event’s “Winter WINEland” theme with festive decorations and entertainment.
“We love participating in Winter WINEland and other Wine Road events,” says Coco Sterzenbach, Special Events Coordinator at Foley Family Wines. “It gives us an opportunity to showcase our beautiful wines, tasting rooms, and a few culinary delights to some new faces.”
Each of the four FFWS properties will be serving up a paired soup to accompany their wine. At Chalk Hill, guests can take in the stunning views while enjoying a delectable Seafood Bisque Soup prepared by the FFWS culinary team. While experiencing the tasting inside Roth’s famed wine cave with a Candy Land twist, a hearty Potato Kale and Journeyman Chorizo soup will be provided to keep the cold at bay. In a experience fit for a king, Lancaster Estate’s royalty-themed tasting room will include a selfie station and some Classic French Onion Soup with a Fiscalini Cheddar Crouton. And finally, you won’t want to miss the picturesque views from Foley Sonoma’s outdoor terrace while sipping on fabulous wines and their tasty Roasted Winter Squash Soup with Duck Prosciutto.
In addition to these great FFWS venues, tickets allow guests to visit over 100 Northern Sonoma wineries in any order as they choose over the entire weekend. Other participating wineries include some of the bigger names in the region such as Kendall-Jackson Wine Estate & Gardens, along with hidden gems like the quaint and picturesque Armida Winery.
Tickets are avaiable for purchase online, with options for participation on both days or Sunday only.
